I was on an extended stay in Australia in 2017. We were visiting family and taking a few of the sights. Apart from plane flights from Melbourne to Alice Springs and from Uluru to Cairns we drove about 6,500 kilometres!
On September 1st we travelled from Cairns to Atherton visiting Kuranda on the way. Travelling south from Kuranda I saw a gravel road to our left so I took it. It led us to Davies Creek. I saw this scene and blatted off a few shots. This one is, I believe, the best of the lot. I have done a pastel painting of this scene which you will see elsewhere on this site.
